Chisholm Trail Events: A Website Built to Support a Growing Local Venue

When Emily, the manager of Chisholm Trail Events, reached out, she had a clear goal: she wanted a professional website that would make it easier for potential clients to learn about the venue and book events with confidence. Until then, her online presence lived primarily on Facebook, which made it difficult to centralize information and answer common questions efficiently.

This project focused on transforming those needs into a streamlined, user-friendly website built from the ground up.

The Client’s Needs

Emily wanted a website that could serve as a true hub for her event center. Specifically, she needed a place where visitors could:

  • View availability for the venue
  • Browse photos from past events
  • Easily find contact information
  • Get answers to frequently asked questions

In addition, the site needed to clearly communicate the variety of events Chisholm Trail Events can accommodate, from celebrations to community gatherings.

Planning & Discovery

We began with a proposal and an in-person meeting to discuss Emily’s vision. During this conversation, she shared the overall style she had in mind and walked Holly through inspiration photos she wanted reflected on the site. This discovery phase was key in ensuring the final product felt aligned with her brand and welcoming to her audience.

Budget & Logistics

Mission Forward Marketing explained the cost structure upfront so there were no surprises. Website creation was a one-time expense, while the domain is an annual cost and hosting is billed monthly. Ongoing maintenance was discussed as a separate service should she need it in the future.

We agreed on a 50% deposit to begin the project, with the remaining balance due once the site was complete. We also coordinated payment timing to align with Emily’s schedule.

Building the Website

Since this was a brand-new website with no existing URL, we started completely from scratch. Mission Forward Marketing purchased the domain and hosting through our preferred vendor, WP Opt. We are an affiliate and have an affiliate link you are welcome to use to host your own website. Because the site was not yet public, there was no need for maintenance or “coming soon” mode.

I shared an early draft of the website while waiting for Emily to send over finalized FAQs and event photos. Once those assets were delivered, I incorporated them into the site to complete the design and content.

Added Value & Extras

As a bonus, we created a Google Business Profile for Chisholm Trail Events to help strengthen local visibility. We also chose to use Google Calendar to manage availability, as it’s free, simple to update, and accessible from anywhere. To support review collection, I provided a QR code that links directly to Google Reviews.

I also offered to set up custom email addresses tied to the domain, though this service was ultimately not utilized.

Once the site was finalized and payment was complete, Emily as an admin on the hosting account, WordPress dashboard, and Google Business Profile so she would have full ownership and access moving forward.

Communication & Collaboration

Emily was a full-time RN student, so flexibility was important. We worked around her schedule, and most of our communication happened via text. We met once at the beginning for the initial planning session and again at the end to review the finished website together.

Client Feedback

Emily shared that she loved how user-friendly the site was and felt it truly reflected her vision for Chisholm Trail Events. Her feedback affirmed that the site met both her functional needs and aesthetic goals.

“Working with Holly at Mission Forward Marketing was such a great experience! She helped me build a website for Chisholm Trail Events, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Holly was so easy to work with—she listened to my ideas, made helpful suggestions, and brought everything together beautifully. She works diligently for her customers until they are pleased with every aspect. The site perfectly reflects what I envisioned. I’m so grateful for her talent and patience throughout the process and highly recommend her to anyone needing a website or digital marketing help!”

The Result

The finished website gives Chisholm Trail Events a professional, centralized online presence that supports both day-to-day inquiries and long-term growth. By moving beyond social media alone, Emily now has a website that works for her – answering questions, showcasing her space, and making it easier for clients to take the next step.
